Sheila Griffin is a Brooklyn based photographer specializing in documentary photography, portraiture, and sports essays. She recently graduated from the photojournalism program at the International Center of Photography. Her clients include, The New York Times, The New Yorker, Associated Press and The Center for Global Affairs.
Sheila has traveled extensively in the U.S., Europe, South East Asia, as well as Japan, where she lived for a year. Learning the stories of foreign places and people along with stories closer to home is what inspires her photography. She has a background in fine art, having earned her BFA in sculpture at the School of Visual Arts. Recently, she received a Directors Fellowship from the International Center of Photography, was nominated for a New York Photo Award, and received second place in the student category of the American Society of Media Photographers Image 08 Contest.
