Sheila Griffin is a Brooklyn based photographer specializing in documentary photography, portraiture, and weddings. She is a graduate of the photojournalism program at the International Center of Photography.
Sheila has traveled extensively in the U.S., Mexico, Europe, South East Asia, as well as Japan, where she lived for a year. She is an explorer and loves all things mysterious. She believes in people, ghosts, dreams, and good manners. She has a background in fine art, and earned her BFA in sculpture at the School of Visual Arts where she made art meant to be touched.
Her clients include, The New York Times, The New Yorker, New York Magazine, City Magazine, The Associated Press, The Posse Foundation, and The Center for Global Affairs.
Awards Include, a Directors Fellowship from the International Center of Photography, nomination for a New York Photo Award, Second place in the American Society of Media Photographers Image Contest, and two International Photography Awards. Her work has been included in numerous New York shows as well as the 2008 Pingyao Photo Festival in China and the 2012 Angkor Photo Festival in Cambodia.
Sheila photographs weddings alone and with her dear friend and fellow documentary photographer, Becky Holladay. The name of their company is Amaranth.
